Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) is an important water-soluble B-complex vitamin that is often deficient in the diet.  It helps iron function properly and it regulates red blood cell formation.  It works in conjunction with Vitamin B12 and C to metabolize protein.  Folic Acid helps to form the nucleic acid of RNA and DNA.  It is a vital nutrient for women who are pregnant or may be pregnant.  It plays a crucial role in fetus development and may help prevent birth defects.  If taken months in advance of conception, it may reduce the occurrence of neural tube defects (NTDs) by as much as 70%. Along with Vitamins B6 and B12, it helps to break down homocysteine, a harmful amino acid.  Higher levels of homocysteine are often associated with osteoporosis, heart disease and strokes.

Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, adults take one (1) tablet daily with meals, or as directed by a health care professional. Store in a cool, dry place and away from direct light.
